The scene was an exchange between the girls and the film's lead actress and iFilmGroup's acting coach Helena Rose.  Rose is the other half of the team that wrote the script.   The scene included a number of extras which included a few other iFilmGroup members.

Don Hickey the Community Engagement Manager and co-founder of iFilmGroup was in attendance for the filming, as was iFilmGroup's still-photographer Reza Khazaee who helped out on the tech team for the film for the day.

It was another successful filming date for Marshall and his m & s Marshall Production, as well for the iFilmGroup team. Fun was had by all. More filming dates for the film are in the works and will included more of the iFilmGroup members.

The iFilmGroup team had a successful workshop day in London, Ontario, Canada. Those in attendance were made up of some familiar faces as well as some new faces. All who attended had a fun day of learning about acting and film.  The day was hosted and lead by iFilmGroup founders Don Hickey and Matthew Marshall. Hickey comes with a history of being part of the film and modelling industry. His film "Ronny’s Bench" has won 8 awards including Hickey winning for Best Actor. Marshall an award winning film director also has close to 30 years of working in the film / television and the theatre industry. He has such award winning films as "Daughter of the King" and "Tuned In".

The workshop covered acting exercises, auditions, monologues as well as improv exercises and a social media portion of the day. Both Hickey and Marshall were very happy with the workshop.  They have a very large group of new people excited to be a part of productions that are being made through iFilmGroup and the production companies associated with them.  Marshall and Hickey together have worked with over 300 youth in their long history of productions they have each been a part of.  But this new group of interested participants with their enthusiasm excites Hickey and Marshall. Especially when parents have been sharing comments like “we think you offer a better program then ones we have been a part of in Toronto”.  One parents said “the knowledge and experience my daughter has received from your program has been so amazing. She has made so many connections and new friends in the film biz. From the first time we walked on to one of your sets we felt so welcomed and part of your production family”.  These comments have inspired Hickey and Marshall to look at how they can expand the program.

Plans are in the works for more workshops in the near future.  Discussions and meetings are being held with a theatre group about workshops where the two will work together in association in putting on workshops where the difference between film acting and theatre acting are explored to help local acting enthusiast be better equipped in both forms of acting. Which will hopefully help them land more parts in productions being done in South-Western Ontario.

Hickey and Marshall both feel that this workshop is the starting point of some exciting things to come with the group in the near future.

The iFilmGroup is preparing for a workshop day for its youth/teens and its seniors. The workshop day will feature some interactive acting social games as well as some hands on experience with scene work and mock auditions.  Pictures and filming will be done of the event to be used as part of a iFilmGroup Promotional video.

iFilmGroup is an inter-generational film program with youth and seniors making award winning films together.  iFilmGroup's vision is to network the different generations of skills and talents as the different generations transition the journey of life.

“It's really incredible to watch today's youth working with seniors.  Some caught the acting bug through theatre, or at their school. The group is about the building of relationship between youth and seniors and the benefits they gain from each other”, says the co-founder and Community Engagement Manager of iFilmGroup, Don Hickey.

“iFilmGroup really is about relationship building and  mentoring while learning about the craft of film making” says Matthew Marshall the other co-founder of iFilmGroup and co-owner of m & s Marshall Productions. “The program is about developing life skills that enrich all ages. Together we are learning and teaching… sharing values between the age generations”, Marshall goes on to say.

“It's amazing to see these young people develop a passion for learning skills and life perspectives from seniors. You can actually see them discover a new part of themselves and how they embrace what they thought was an unreachable goal” adds Hickey.

The program officially was created in July 0f 2017 and has been growing ever since. The concept has been in practice by Hickey and Marshall for a number of years.

The program and work shop is open to anyone who is a youth to young adult between ages 11 and 25 on one end and then anyone who is a senior. They do have some people that are in the transitions of life that fall in-between those ages. “We don’t turn down anyone, but the focus is on youth to young adults and seniors” says Hickey.  The iFilmGroup has a pool of people working with them now but is always open to new additions. “iFilmGroup is  always looking for individuals with a passion for film making to fill spots in upcoming productions and projects”, Says Marshall.

The location, date and time of the event is in the works and public notice will be shared when released.

The Production Team of iFilmGroup had a very successful work shop and production day on Saturday March 10th. The team met with a number of people who recently have shown interest in coming on board with the team. This included individuals interested in marketing and promotion, still photography and film production crew.

The team had a great meeting with them and outlined where the mission and vision of iFilmGroup is headed. Following that, the team got down to production and was helped out by some of the new participants. A couple actors from the auditions in January were there to film some of their first scenes and footage with the team. One of those individuals was Maysee Mclean. Filming of some footage for the iFilmGroup promo video that is in the works took place. As well a scene for the dramatic footage of "Struggles Within". Then McLean filmed some more dramatic footage with the team for "Struggles Within" as well as doing some still work for shots for promotion and props for "Blue Love".

Matthew Marshall and Don Hickey was impressed with the performance of McLean. But her talent does not surprise them. “She blew us away in Auditions. She is here because of her talent” says Marshall who is the driving creative force behind a couple of the projects they were filming for. As for Maysee, she enjoyed her first film shoot. “Had such a great time filming on Saturday. It was such a cool experience. I can't wait to be a part of some other awesome projects” says McLean.

She will have a supporting role in "Blue Love" playing a role called "Piper". More is on the horizon for Miss McLean as both Hickey and Marshall have some more ideas for the teenager for the near future. Over all, the team felt that the day was a huge success with the new additions to the group. But they are quick to add they are always open to more new faces.
