Olivia Williams Accredited Mentee

Olivia Williams trained in a iFilmGroup Workshop- Acting Resume and Headshot

Mentorship through training is the cornerstone of the iFilmGroup mission. The highest leVEL of this is the 'Accredited Learning Program'.

Where iFilmGroup partners with an educational system or school for a student to learn the art of acting and filmmaking while being given credit for the time that has accumulated.

Often this will happen through the Co-op Education or Co-operative Education Programs of a particular school. The idea of the co-op program is very much in line with what iFilmGroup offers through its mentorship programs.

Co-Op is a program where students get the chance to work in an industry related to their field. Most co-op programs are structured so that each term or semester of schooling is alternated with a term or semester of work.

During the school year 2021 to 2022, iFilmGroup had a student participate in the Accredited Mentorship Program. Olivia Williams, a young aspiring actor was the iFilmGroup intern from October to June. During her time, she focused on a lot of the various aspects of the craft of acting. Including acting technique, character development, auditioning, monologues, and the business of acting.

Accredited Intern Actor Olivia Williams and Matthew Marshall

Olivia had to complete weekly blogs and present monologues. She had weekly check-ins and discussions with her mentor and advisor Matthew Marshall; Head of Film Production at iFilmGroup. She also interviewed a number of various actors and had to gather info from those interviews on topics such as acting styles, on-set etiquette, and topics like… how to find an agent.

iFilmGroup teaches that acting takes hard work and study. You never stop learning the craft. It is a part of you… you just need to let it ‘flow’!

‘You are the character’… “So you must study the character”.

Over the term, Olivia had to complete various projects. She participated in, 'in-person training' and events. Also including being part of some on-location training and filming, and participating in film-related meetings and headshot/photo shoot sessions. She also made a short film under the guidance of Marshall called the “Big Audition”. The entire semester exposed her to a wide variety of aspects of the film industry and gave her the tools to go out into the world to pursue her acting career.
